This moderate circular route starts in Varone and leads from Tenno to the lake of the same name. This manageable mountain lake with its blue-green color is also called the "Blue Lake." Walking is the only permitted way to circle the lake.
The start is in ➊ Varone (120 m) right next to the sports field (small parking lot). Follow the sign "Anello Garda Sarca" (Loc. Roncaglie) on the steep and somewhat winding road to ➋ Deva (260 m). At the left bend in Deva, cross the road and go uphill (follow shortcut/signs) to the junction with ➌ SP 37. Follow the road for about 1.3 km to the turnoff to Tenno; cross the valley on the right downhill. With a slight ascent, you reach ➍ Castello di Tenno (430 m). Follow the main road uphill to the first left bend, enter the forest road between the house and the road (signpost Lago di Tenno). At the ➎ St. Antonio Church (556 m), briefly follow the SS 421 to the intersection. Enter the steep street between Hotel Cristina and Bar Borgo. Keep right at the crossroads and continue to the small fountain before the paid ➏ parking lot. A short descent partly on a forest road leads uphill to the ➐ parking lot at Lake Tenno (601 m).
