Under Tošč

A practical starting point is the large parking area at Pograjski dom near Polhov Gradec. From here ride left toward Dobrova and enjoy a gentle seven-kilometre descent to Hrastenice. At the marked junction turn left toward Topol and Toško Čelo. The road soon begins to climb, first through forest and then across steep meadows before reaching Topol under Katarina.

At the junction by the inn turn left and descend quickly to Trnovec, then continue along the flatter road toward Sora. Before the church in the village turn left again, following signs for Osolnik. A pleasant five-kilometre climb through forest leads to the Rožnik tourist farm just below Osolnik.

Behind the farm the ride becomes more adventurous. Take the forest track climbing along the slopes of Govejek. Navigation can be tricky and some exploration may be required before reaching the marked hiking path near Gontarska planina. From the viewpoint Igale a very technical descent leads toward Kozjek farm.

Continue along forest tracks to the crossroads at Jame and descend toward Gonte. The final section follows a fun singletrack toward Mačkov graben before joining the road in the Božna valley and returning to the start.

This loop packs a surprising amount of wilderness into a relatively small area of the Polhov Gradec hills. Read more...
