Schlanders is located in the geographic center of the Vinschgau valley. The village lies on the base of the mighty Gadri debris cone, which stretches between Laas and Kortsch. As a trademark, Schlanders boasts the highest church tower in Vinschgau (97 m), which is not perfectly straight: the tip of the church tower leans slightly to the west.
