The start and endpoint of this tour is at the Feneberg in Füssen.
Even King Ludwig II chose the East Allgäu mountains as the perfect backdrop for his fairy tale castles.
Anyone who has done this tour knows why.
After a short warm-up section past Schwansee, it continues to the beautiful Alpsee.
Now follows a steep ramp up to Marienbrücke.
But that's not all, as there is another ascent of 600 meters in elevation up to the King's hunting lodge.
Now the Schützensteig takes over the lead, as a challenging single trail it leads to Ammersattel, and further down
to the dreamily situated Plansee.
The Plansee is mostly circled on a beautiful path (beware of many pedestrians), and from there it continues
to the magnificent Stuiben waterfalls.
Then we roll back over Pinswang to Füssen.
Overall a very beautiful tour, but it should definitely be done at times when few pedestrians are around.
