Reschen Alm

We start in the municipality of Graun directly in Reschen at the bike path junction near the dairy. Initially, we go west along the lake until we reach the valley station of the Schöneben cable car. Here we bike slightly uphill on the paved road towards Rojen. After a short descent, we ride on a gravel military path to the Reschen Alm, enjoying the wonderful view of Lake Reschen and the Ötztal Alps. At the Reschen Alm, we take a break and refresh ourselves. Afterwards, we pass old barracks heading towards the border, following the signs for Grünsee. Here we can expect beautiful trails and a pushing section.

After the mountain lake, we descend on easy trails to the valley station Kastelalpe at the Reschen federal road. Here we take the old route of the Via Claudia Augusta, turn left at the foot of the mountain, and climb steeply on gravel roads to the Bergkastelalpe. Once at the top, we continue right towards the south and Plamort. A nice trail leads us to the border and past tank barriers to Plamort, where we are overwhelmed by the view of the Ortler and the views of Lake Reschen and Lake Haider. From there, we bike back to Reschen on a military road.
