Biarritz-Pays basque
Not to be missed;
• Uurkulu. At 1419m altitude, the Urkulu tower above the Arnosteguy pass takes us back to the time when the Romans offered the Pax Romana in our Basque land and used this same pastoral route to transport metals and goods. From this vantage point with an unbeatable view, at the border between Gaul and the Iberian Peninsula, they erected this tower, a symbol of their grandeur and the end of the conquest of Aquitaine. Originally it stood over 4.5m high and was certainly topped with a conical roof bearing a trophy.
• Soroluze. A sporty route for the whole family, you will pass near megalithic sites: dolmens, cromlechs, attesting to humanity's presence in these Basque mountains since time immemorial.
• Orgambide Pass. From this point you can continue for 2-3 km and reach the Harpea cave accessible on foot for the last section. It is a true natural curiosity with folds of rock shaped like a roof and a hollowed core.
