Mountain bike route around Monte Brione in the Garda mountains
Relaxed season start
Scenic route to warm up for the whole family. Most of the way is on paved roads and therefore also easily manageable with a trekking bike. Just right to justify eating ice cream on the lakeside promenade!
This route is only for connoisseurs, less for sports enthusiasts. It mostly runs on flat paved roads or bike paths through the valley basin between Arco, Torbole and Riva. You pleasantly pass vineyards and olive groves until you finally return to Arco. The landscape offers magnificent views of Lake Garda, the high (often still snow-covered in spring) spurs of the Brenta, and Monte Baldo. Historically, you follow the traces of the Habsburgs with the castle in Arco to the conflict between Italy and Austria-Hungary with the fortresses in Riva and on Monte Brione. All in all, a wonderful route for a relaxed start to an active Lake Garda holiday or a rest day after climbing or via ferrata.
