The high plateau of Tignale is still located in the Alto Garda Bresciano Nature Park on the western shore of Lake Garda. At an average altitude of 600 m above sea level and away from the bustle at the lake, it is an ideal starting point for many mountain bike routes. Countless military roads, paths, and forest roads crisscross the densely wooded mountains of this area.
From the sports center (small car park) in the hamlet ➊ Gardola (580 m) immediately uphill to the village ➋ Olzano (647 m). Follow the asphalted mountain road (trail no. 253/Piemp) to the ➌ Rifugio Cima Piemp (1160 m). Just below the hut, turn right, westward onto the forest road (trail no. 261). Follow the beautiful, partly flat path to ➍ the helicopter landing site and then with moderate ascent to ➎ Passo d’Ere (1131 m). Descend downhill via the steep hairpins to ➏ Bocca di Paolone (953 m). Keep left (trail no. 253, red-white marking) and follow the forest road downhill to ➐ Passo di Fobbia (907 m). A long, steep descent with some concreted sections (direction Aer) leads after a short uphill stretch to the asphalted ➑ road. Follow this road to the village square in ➒ Aer (567 m), then towards Olzano and back to the starting point in Gardola.
