Around Latsch there are several historic castle sites, such as the Ober- and Untermontani castle ruins in the Morter district. The switchback trail that connects these two castles is simply brilliant!

Start: in the ➊ center of Latsch. From the main square the route goes along the Deer Promenade and the trim trail up to the reservoir pond of the irrigation system. At the ➋ pond, turn right and the hilly route winds along the Hunter’s Path and the ➌ New Waal Trail up to the ➍ Obermontani castle ruin. The alternating stretches of pedaling and slight downhill flow repeatedly demand technical riding skills. From the Obermontani castle ruin downwards, a great switchback trail awaits the biker. On relatively flat paths, the tour leads back to Latsch. Please ride accordingly: many share-the-trail sections.
