Jatkonvalkea Mountain Biking Trail 10 km, Hossa National Park
Partly a circle trail, Jatkonvalkea trail lets you see the beautiful lake and esker views of Hossa National Park on the saddle of a mountainbike.
Jatkonvalkea trail starts from Hossa Visitor Centre's starting point for mountain biking trails and continues along Jatkonsalmentie Road to Huosivirta, in a gorgeous lake scenery framed by Huosiharju Esker. After crossing the Huosivirta Rapids, the trail continues along the shores of Lake Kenttäjärvi to the Jatkonsalmi hut and further onwards, along the shores of Lake Jatkonjärvi, onto Jatkonvaara Hill. From there, the trail returns to Huosivirta and Hossa Visitor Centre. Suitable for mountainbiking beginners, it is the easiest mountainbiking trail in Hossa National Park.

Starting point for this trail is Hossa Visitor Centre, Jatkonsalmentie 6, 89920 Suomussalmi.
By car from Kuusamo to Hossa Visitor Centre:
Follow main road 5 ( E63) for 73 km to the south from Kuusamo. At the village of Peranka turn onto road 9190 and drive east for 25 km. Then turn north on road 843 and drive past the village of Hossa. It is an 8 km drive along road 843 to Hossa Visitor Centre's intersection. From this intersection it is 700 m to the visitor centre.
