Unobtrusive overgrown peak above Hačava on the old inter-castle road from the 17th century.
The original road between Muráň and Fiľakovo castles, today the red-marked Mária Széchy Route, crosses Gemer from north to south. Named after the wife of František Wesselényi, known as the Muráň Venus. We will look at its section from the Rimava river valley.
Mandatory photo documentation: with a bike and a hiking signpost in the background.

Roadbook
The route starts in Hnúšťa, from the main road towards Tisovec we turn right after 2 km (green cycling route) and climb on asphalt to the village of Polom. Here we can follow the red trail and steeply ascend to the meadows above the village, or bypass it more comfortably on a good gravel path on the right. Then we just follow the ridge Mária Széchy Route, enjoy views of the Rimava valley and sometimes also the Low Tatras, and arrive at the destination, which is the forested Kvakov Vŕšok.
