From Tremosine over the Tremalzo

There are many paths in the western Gardasee mountains that lead up to the famous Tremalzo. The military roads from the First World War, originally built for terrible purposes, are now a dream for all mountain bikers. They were laid out with a gentle incline to transport cannons into the mountains and to ensure supplies for the remote positions on protected paths. The paths are still well preserved today and are mostly maintained. There are government funds for the preservation of these historic roads, and each year you will find newly paved sections when the gravel roads are washed out by storms. Thus, the entire route leads through a magnificent mountain landscape with beautiful views of Lake Garda.
