The starting point Sterzing is about 400 m higher than Brixen. That sounds like downhill riding, but must not be underestimated. Over more than 30 km, there are several short but quite steep uphill sections and at Vahrn you even have to detour for a few km on a "bumpy" gravel road.
Start is in the heart of Sterzing (1) on the cycle path along the motorway to Stilfes (2). Here it becomes a little quieter and more idyllic: through Niederried, Pfulters, Grastein and Mittewald to Franzensfeste (3). Then continue past the impressive and touristic fortress Franzensfeste (4) to the Vahrn lake (5). Here begins the gravel road with a sharp climb, but soon you reach Vahrn (6) and from there roll comfortably all the way on the cycle path to the heart of the bishop city Brixen (7).
