CastelBrando
Route among the vineyards of Verdiso and Prosecco DOCG, passing through the chestnut groves of the IGP Marroni di Combai
Suitable route for mountain bike or e-bike
Starting from CastelBrando, take via Madonna delle Grazie, turn right, skirting the hill and take via Carniei until you reach the provincial road that goes from Follina towards Pieve di Soligo. At the roundabout take the second exit and after 100 meters the dirt road via Colzanin, turn right into via Tenade.
Follow the dirt road through the Prosecco DOCG vineyards and the summer mountain huts until you reach Cantina Serre, a recommended stop for a visit to the winery and the territory, as well as a tasting, by reservation.
After leaving the winery, follow the signs to Combai, a small village surrounded by DOCG vineyards and chestnut groves in the hilly area of Valsana. Known and appreciated is the renowned Marroni di Combai Festival which has been held since 1945, every October. The Marrone di Combai IGP is the symbol of tradition and local culture, among the typical products, sweets made with chestnut flour and honey are recommended.
Many walks suitable for children are also suggested: https://www.combai.it/scoprire-combai/itinerari-escursioni/
The route continues taking the road to Miane, initially dirt but then paved up to Follina. A stop is suggested at the Cistercian Abbey, in the town center. The Basilica was initially built on a Benedictine building in the 12th century, later revised in the Cistercian period. The abbey colonnade frames the castle that overlooks the valley.
From Follina follow signs for Valmareno and climb to the castle taking the route The walk of the walls, also suitable for mountain biking.
