The route starts at the Charmey cable car parking lot.
Leaving Charmey via the main road and once crossing the Javro bridge, take a right towards Cerniat. A climb on a paved road with low gradients up to the Valsainte Monastery.
After passing the Charterhouse, you pass in front of La Pinte des Mossettes, then continue on an alpine road to reach Hauta-Chia. Parts are paved and others are gravel. Very little to no traffic on this climb in the middle of nature!
Take the opportunity to pause and enjoy the view at the Hauta-Chia refreshment hut!
The descent is on the traditional paved road. Just before the monastery, take a left to cross the Javro river and the end of the route is a downhill on a nice small gravel path back to Charmey.
