A varied mountain bike loop on the sunny side in Grindelwald with breathtaking views.
From Grindelwald, the paved road winds up to Bussalp. At the top, it is worth driving a few meters further to the viewpoint. A wonderful place to pause for a few minutes and enjoy the fantastic panorama.
The route continues towards Rasthysi/Holenwang. The descent on the gravel road is easy and relaxed. Past Rasthysi, it continues on the paved road uphill towards Nodhalten. Then on gravel road, forest path, and cool single trails via Aellfluh back to Grindelwald.

Public transport
Public-transport-friendly
Thanks to its central location in Europe, Switzerland is served by international trains from over 12 countries. Within Switzerland, Intercity trains run directly from Basel and Lucerne to the Jungfrau Region. Travelers from Zurich change trains in Bern. Trains run every half hour.
Grindelwald
From Interlaken Ost station, we reach Grindelwald without changing trains via the Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB). Important: board the rear part of the train as it splits at Zweilütschinen. Those boarding at the front end up in Lauterbrunnen. The ride takes 30 minutes to Grindelwald Terminal (V-Bahn). Three minutes later, we arrive at the terminal station in the village.
There are three train stations in Grindelwald (Terminal, Grund, and Dorf). The terminal station (Dorf) is located in the center of Grindelwald.
Directions
The fastest way from Basel and Geneva to the Jungfrau Region leads via Bern. From Zurich, the route via Lucerne and the Brünig Pass is recommended. The pass is open all year round.
From the south, arrival takes place via Grimsel or Susten Pass into the Jungfrau Region. Both passes are only open in summer. An alternative is the Simplon Pass with the following car transport through the Lötschberg tunnel.
Grindelwald
From Interlaken we follow the main road to Zweilütschinen. Here we turn left towards Grindelwald. The entire drive takes about 30 minutes and leads over a partially winding route.
Parking
Grindelwald
There are three public parking garages: Parking garage Eiger+ (252 spaces), Parking garage Sports center (160 spaces), and the new Terminal Parking (1000 spaces) of the V-Bahn. Alternatively, we can also use the parking lot in Grindelwald Grund.
