The hub of this trail-heavy route near Lohr in the Spessart is the rustic Forsthaus Aurora above the Hafenlohr valley.
After a steep path ramp immediately at the edge of Lohr, it goes past the race tracks of RVV Wombach. Anyone wanting to do a lap there: be careful, challenging! This is followed by the climb to Karl-Neuf-Platz, where a beautiful view opens at the summit cross. By the way: Near the old quarry, a Transall plane of the Bundeswehr crashed in 1990. Gravel paths lead further to Forsthaus Aurora. However, one should refrain from taking a break until the second passage. Better to ride the long trail into the Hafenlohr valley first! And after the inevitable tough gravel climb, the snack tastes better anyway. For the return trip to Lohr, the locals have discovered a real trail highlight: the so-called Route 44 is usually flowy, but surprises with suddenly appearing root and bump sections. Watch out!
