The start is in Giesshübl at the easily accessible paid car park at the Kuheide. The long loop leads up and down through the Föhrenberge Nature Park. Most of the route leads along forest roads, but there are also some somewhat narrower trails. There are few really technically demanding sections, but good control of your speed, especially on the gravelled bends, is probably the biggest challenge.
The route utilises the regional bike routes such as the Parapluiestrecke, Doktorbergstrecke, Giesshüblstrecke and other feeder routes.
Author’s recommendation
From a culinary point of view, there are some very nice huts along the route:
"Genussverliebt" - right next to the Kuhheide car park
Kammersteinerhütte, Teufelsteinhütte and Höllensteinhaus (located slightly off the route and no longer part of the public bike route)
Salzstanglwirt
Wiener Hütte
