The start and finish point of this beautiful but physically demanding MTB tour is the Mittag station in Immenstadt in the Allgäu.
First, we roll along the small and large Alpsee lakes towards Wiedemansdorf/Thalkirchdorf. The first climb begins in Osterdorf where the small but steep asphalt road takes us to Semmelalp.
Beautiful views of the Große Alpsee, the Salmaser and Thaler heights now accompany us on the ever-ascending circular route.
Past the Lower and Upper Kalle, the mountain station of the Alpsee’s Coaster (summer toboggan run) and the Naturfreundehaus (1400 meters) we reach here the highest point of the first ascent.
It is also recommended to take a break here.
The first longer descent brings us to the junction towards Mittag mountain station, then follows a long and steep climb to about 1450 meters to the mountain station of the Mittagbahn.
From there it goes over the Bärenköpfle (where, according to legend, the last bear in the Allgäu was hunted), the Vorderen Krumbach Alpe and Alpe Dürrehorn to the Gunzesrieder Säge, the second longer descent.
Downhill, the path takes us back via Gunzesried, Ettensberg, Schwanden and Altmummen to the destination and starting point of this wonderful tour.
