This route begins at Cabo Girão, the highest cliff in Europe, in the south of Madeira. Along a scenic coastal road, the route first leads to the sun-drenched small town of Ponta do Sol, which radiates a pleasant atmosphere. The tranquil fishing village of Paúl do Mar also offers an impressive original backdrop. From the Precipicio viewpoint, we reach Ponta do Pargo, the westernmost point of the island, where a lighthouse offers unrestricted panoramic views of the coast and the island's interior. In northwest Madeira, we can admire the mighty lava pools from the viewpoint Pico do Facho near Porto Moniz. These were formed from volcanic lava and are accessible to visitors. They invite you to enjoy a bath in saltwater while taking in the splendid backdrop of the coastal town. The route is rounded off by a visit to the underground caves of São Vicente.
