Queen Margrethe II has a favorite flower: namely her namesake, the daisy. She is dedicated the "Daisy Route" – a 3,500-kilometer-long tourist route.
It is without question Denmark's longest attraction: the so-called Daisy Route winds off the main roads across the small kingdom. At almost every intersection, a square sign with a daisy on a brown background points the way. The small signs lead along scenic roads to more than 1,000 attractions that you might not otherwise come across. Along the way, you'll pass castles, manor houses, viewpoints, nature reserves, medieval towns, leisure centers, and of course camping sites. The entire route is divided into 13 individual sections. This way, you can customize your personal sightseeing tour and decide day by day which top attractions you want to see. From the North Sea coast to Copenhagen, and from the German-Danish border all the way up to Hirtshals.

The Daisy Route - Funen Section
The island of Funen lies in the middle of Denmark's Baltic Sea and is also called the green garden of the kingdom. Discover the hilly landscapes with breathtaking colors and the ever-present maritime flair. Characteristic are the many long streets with thatched half-timbered houses along the roadside. The South Funen Archipelago adjoins south of Funen with islands of all sizes and beautiful sounds, bays, and sea inlets, as well as family-friendly beaches. Here you experience firsthand where H.C. Andersen drew his inspiration for his fairy tales. Funen is connected to Zealand via the Great Belt Bridge and to Jutland via the Little Belt Bridge.
