Stage 10 Cembra – Bedollo
On the way to Faver, you will discover picturesque mountain villages and old alleyways. Faver impresses with its old three-part fountain and inviting village square, ideal for a short break.
A panoramic stop with a view of Segonzano rewards hikers before the path leads through picturesque vineyards that showcase the beauty of the South Tyrolean landscape. The historic Ponte di Cantilaga, a relic from the Middle Ages, offers a fascinating sight.
A highlight of the tour is the Castello di Segonzano, which towers majestically over the vineyards and offers a marvellous view. In Segonzano, the Trattoria Alpino bar invites you to stop and savour the local cuisine before reaching the impressive pyramids of Segonzano.
After a refreshing walk through the forest, you reach Quaras, where you can fill up with water at the fountains. The stage ends in the charming village of Bedollo, with its old houses and views of the surrounding lakes. There is no overnight accommodation here, so you will need to continue to Brusago or Lago delle Piazze.

Safety information
For alpine tours, thorough preparation and suitable equipment are essential. Sturdy hiking boots, weatherproof clothing in layers, and a well-fitting backpack enhance both safety and comfort. The backpack should include enough water, provisions, a first aid kit, and a mobile phone with an extra battery. Trekking poles can assist on challenging sections, and maps or GPS are helpful for navigation. Due to changing weather conditions, it is advisable to check the weather report regularly and start early. Alpine experience or participation in a guided tour is recommended for demanding parts of the trail.Roadbook
From there, follow the sidewalk along the main street through the village. After 400m you reach an information office that provides helpful hiking maps. Continue straight toward Faver, a colorful village you will arrive at after just under 2 km. Leave the main street and go left into the small town to the church square and then to an old 3-part well where laundry once used to be washed.
The path continues through the village center of Faver, through old streets towards Piazzo and Piramidi.
After almost 3 km, you reach a panoramic point with a view of Segonzano from where the rest of the route can be seen clearly. A broad, paved path leads slowly downwards through vineyards until after almost 4 km when you will come to an old, steeply sloping paved path leading to the bottom of the valley. Here you cross the historic Ponte di Cantilaga, already a significant connection in the Middle Ages.
From now on it goes uphill toward Piazzo. After a good 6 km, you reach the Castello di Segonzano, from which you have an impressive view of the vineyards of the Cembra Valley. After a short detour to the castle, you continue and reach the village of Saletto just before Segonzano.
After almost 8 km, you meet the variant route in Sedro (765m), which comes from Grumes. From here both routes lead on the same path to Bedollo.
In Segonzano, the Bar Trattoria Alpino offers a good opportunity for a lunch break. Continue to the impressive pyramids of Segonzano which you will reach after just under 10 km.
Finally, cross the forest and reach Quaras, where you can fill up with water at two wells.
The last part of the stage takes you steeply uphill on a paved path. Shortly afterward, you reach your destination, the village of Bedollo. However, there are no overnight accommodations here, so you must continue your journey by bus to Brusago or Lago delle Piazze. A tour of the village is worthwhile for enjoying the old houses and the views of the two lakes.
