Explore the Sevan Peninsula in the early hours of the morning when there is not another soul in sight.
Տhe road passes through the Yerevan-Gavar highway and on your right side is the beauty of lake Sevan with its sparkling, clean and sweet water. Located in eastern Armenia, 65 kilometres or roughly an hour by car from Yerevan and 45 kilometres from Gavar (37 min. by car), Lake Sevan is the largest freshwater lake in the Caucasus region and one of the biggest alpine lakes in Eurasia. There are various resorts and villages scattered around the shoreline. By far the most popular place to aim for is the Sevan Peninsula, located at the north-western tip of the lake, close to the eponymous town of Sevan. Tourists flock to Lake Sevan during the summer season for fishing, water sports and swimming on the country’s only beaches.
