The Schwarzwald-Ostweg from Pforzheim to Schaffhausen is a north-south long-distance hiking route through the Black Forest, approximately 245 km long, which can be completed in twelve daily stages.
1st stage: Pforzheim - Bad Liebenzell (approx. 25 km) We start the Schwarzwald-Ostweg at the Kupferkammer and first hike through the Würm valley to the Liebeneck ruins and then continue via Hamberg and past the Steinegg ruins to Neuhausen. Via the Monbach bridge we finally reach the Monbach valley and shortly afterwards Bad Liebenzell. 2nd stage: Bad Liebenzell - Oberhaugstett (approx. 21 km) Right at the beginning of our second stage we hike to the Wolfschlucht near Ernstmühl and continue to Hirsau, a district of Calw. By the way, there is the old Aurelius monastery ruins from the 11th century, which is definitely worth a visit. We leave Hirsau and march past the Zivalstein hiking home and a castle ruin and reach Oberhaugstett via Bad Teinach. 3rd stage: Oberhaugstett - Pfalzgrafenweiler (approx. 22 km) We hike past the village of Wart to Berneck castle and continue via Altensteig, the Kohlsägemühle and the Zinsbach mill to Pfalzgrafenweiler. 4th stage:
