If the weather cooperates, it is a dream week mostly spent in the binational double World Heritage site: The Pyrenées/Parque Nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido area is a World Natural Heritage and World Cultural Heritage site and extends across the national border.

A route that really challenges you: In a (brief) week, 90 high mountain kilometers in about 40 hours, 6,700 meters of ascent and descent, a top-class viewpoint mountain, two three-thousanders, including the third highest mountain of the Pyrenees. Highest point of the route at 3,355 meters. A legendary notch in the main ridge of the Pyrenees, magnificent mountain landscape, superb waterfalls. And all this hopefully in the best Mediterranean weather.

    Author’s recommendation

Accommodation in the three huts must be booked well in advance. In Torla, the Hotel Ballarín and the Hostal Alto Aragón, which are under unified management, are highly recommended (https://www.hotelballarin.com/en/).

For safety in the huts: Definitely take headlamps, as flashlights often are not sufficient and sometimes both hands are needed for necessary tasks.
