Nordrandweg (Black Forest)
We start our hike in Mühlacker, pass the Löffelstelz castle ruins and ücross the Enz river. We should also pay a short visit to the Renaissance castle of Mühlhausen. Behind Dürrmenz we enter the forest and walk up to Steckhof and Tannenberg. Now we hike slightly downhill to Niefern-Öschelbronn, where we can visit Niefernburg Castle, the Protestant church and the Kirnbach Museum. We then make our way to Kirnbach and through the forest to Eutingen, crossing the Enz River again. With a detour to the west, we reach Pforzheim, the destination of today's stage, whose collegiate church of St. Michael can be seen from far away.
Stage 2: Pforzheim - Langensteinbach (19.5 km)
Our day tour starts in Pforzheim and leads directly into the Black Forest. After passing the Römerberg, we hike past Dietlingen and enjoy the view of the surrounding vineyards. After Keltern we walk above the Pfinz river to Weiler. Here we turn west and only have to cross a forest before we reach the finish of the stage.
Stage 3: Langensteinbach - Durlach (16 km)
Past Langensteinbach Castle, we hike to the Rappenbusch forest. We cross the A8 and then walk in a large arc around the village of Stupferich to turn right shortly before Thomashof. Once again the Black Forest lives up to its name and a wonderful forest trail awaits us. From the Turmberg we have a good view over Karlsruhe. We quickly covered the short distance to its district of Durlach, with Karlsburg Castle, and arrived at the finishing point of the Nordrandweg.
