Light hiking on the Lechweg works best without heavy loads on your shoulders. The Lechweg shuttle service by Busreisen Feuerstein transports your luggage to the next accommodation. It is best to book the transport directly with the company STM - Shuttle Service Taxi und Busreisen in advance of your hiking holiday: Oberdorf 54, A-6652 Elbigenalp, Phone +43 676 6366825 , lechweg@stm-service.at, www.stm-service.at. Direct booking is possible up to two days before transport.

On this last stretch of the trail, you leave the Lech and hike on forest and forestry paths via the Kniepass to the Sternschanze. It is part of the Ehrenberg castle complex as a forward fortification. Here, you will find a wonderful view of Oberpinswang. Those who leave the Lechweg and stop at the Gutshof Schluxen in Unterpinswang can follow in the footsteps of King Ludwig, who was often a guest here. From the Schluxen, you return to the Lechweg via the Fürstenstraße. After a section on forest roads, the Lechweg now leads on forest trails towards Alpsee and thus onto Bavarian soil. It passes the Israelit, an elongated, slightly overhanging rock face. Soon, the Alpsee shines through the leaves of the trees. First, Schloss Hohenschwangau comes into view, then Schloss Neuschwanstein. Follow the Alpsee circular path past the Marian monument. If your legs are tired, the Café and Restaurant Alpenrose am See awaits on the opposite shore. Afterwards, the trail goes above Lake Schwansee along the Alpenrosenweg to the Kalvarienberg, the last ascent of the Lechweg. The view rewards your effort: Far beyond the rooftops of Füssen, the view stretches into the alpine foothills with its many lakes or back to the royal castles and to Tyrol. Next comes the descent to the Lechfall – the endpoint of the Lechweg.
