Kocher-Jagst Trail—enchanted valleys and rolling hills
The Kocher-Jagst Trail winds through the diverse landscape of the Hohenlohe region for just under 200 kilometers. The route is divided into three sections: the Jagststeig, Bühlersteig, and Kochersteig, and connects tranquil river valleys, scenic ridges, and historic towns across ten stages. Along the Jagst, Bühler, and Kocher rivers, dense forests, open plateaus, natural streams, and enchanting gorges alternate. Cultural highlights include the medieval old town of Kirchberg an der Jagst, the crypt at Unterregenbach, the Großcomburg Monastery near Schwäbisch Hall, and the Baroque town of Ellwangen with its castle and the Schönenberg pilgrimage church. Time and again, sweeping views of the Hohenlohe Plain open up, such as from the Einkorn near Schwäbisch Hall. Numerous inns, cafés, and farm stands invite you to stop and rest along the way. Thanks to good train connections, the trail is suitable for both multi-day hikes and individual stages.
