Hüttengaudi 2022 - Tannheimer Tal
The 6th Hüttengaudi route is approaching!
We're heading to the beautiful Tannheimer Tal, a mountain area with alpine pastures and meadows as well as great huts and a magnificent panorama!
Especially with four awesome mountain buddies who fear neither death nor the devil, really tough guys (ok, one is scared of wasps!).
Where they stop, people talk about them for decades, they are true legends!
Men!!!
It's finally time again for the traditional Hüttengaudi in the Tannheimer Tal.
We will arrive on September 1, 2022, please by 5:00 pm. We will spend the first night in our base camp, the Allgäuherz.
I know exactly what you imagine :)
I have booked two double rooms for us here.

Safety information
In addition to trails, there are also absolutely alpine paths where good footwear is a must. Due to the length and altitude of the routes, rainwear, a hat, gloves, backpack, and rain cover are necessary. I will definitely check my equipment to further save unnecessary luggage and weight!
Packing bags make sense as I have experienced in recent years. You don't have all the stuff loose flying around in the backpack (costs around €25 in various sizes and colors at Globetrotter).

Roadbook
1st Hüttengaudi Stage / Grän (Lumberg parking lot) to Bad Kissinger Hütte [1,792m]
From our base camp in Wiggensbach, we start our journey by car to the starting point in Grän.
The trip takes about 45 minutes.
Bags packed and looking great, we finally set off to the Bad Kissinger Hütte.
The hike begins on gentle paths, first through the forest and then along lush meadows full of blossoms towards Bad Kissinger Hütte. Past an alpine hut (where a stopover could be made), the path winds up in many switchbacks. On the mountain saddle shortly before the Bad Kissinger Hütte, we are treated to a wonderful view down into the valley, with views towards Füssen and the Foggensee. After about 15 minutes, we reach our day's destination, the Bad Kissinger Hütte.
Those who want can, after settling in, also hike 45 minutes more to the summit of Aggenstein [1,986 m], and enjoy a magnificent sunset with a wide view over the Allgäu, even spotting Neuschwanstein, tiny and small. Frequent surprises are many small solstice fires which light up the peaks in the Thannheimer Tal.
Difficulty: medium
Distance: 5.1 km
Duration: 3:00 h
Ascent: 639 m
Descent: 48 m
2nd Hüttengaudi Stage Bad Kissinger Hütte [1,792m] to Otto-Mayr-Hütte [1,530m]
The first schnapps and wine are digested and remain in the best memory of the morning. Shoes glued, backpack packed, off we go for the 2nd stage.
Starting with a narrow path, partly through light forest, then across alpine pastures towards Füssener Jöchle. In good weather, we will have beautiful views and a great panorama😉. Through the alpine basin (some already have a basin on board🤔) of the Sebenalpe, the path climbs again and leads to a forest road to Füssener Jöchle and past the mountain station of a cable car. Shortly after, the path turns left to the hut and on the other side to the "Schartschrofen".
Those who want can descend directly to the Otto-Mayr-Hütte on the well-marked path, while the tough men, calf biters, and screw eaters can still climb Schartschrofen or dance down the "Friedberger Klettersteig" and then also climb the "Rote Flüh".
Since we don't have such a long route, we can have a stopover/snack at the Tannheimer Hütte. Arriving at the Otto-Mayr-Hütte, the same ritual: soak up the sun, one, two, three, eight... ice-cold drinks and relax!
Difficulty: medium - with via ferrata, a little dance for Brother Tuck!
Distance: 4.4 km
Duration: 3:45 h
Ascent: 630 m
Descent: 502 m
3rd Hüttengaudi Stage Gimpelhaus [1,659m] via Nässelwengle [1,136m] to Grän [1,141m]
Unfortunately, the last stage has already been reached, and with a heavy heart, much laughter muscle ache, we hike down to the valley to Nesselwängle. Here we can decide whether to take the bus or taxi to the cars, or walk to the parking lot with a small stop on the way or afterwards.
In any case, I would like to arrange a date for Hüttengaudi 2023 😍!
