Safety information
This is a high alpine hike and of course you must always check the weather and trail conditions.Roadbook
From the Tiefenbach Glacier you can take the bus to Sölden or continue directly on the panorama route towards Vent. At the so-called Marchkofel at about 2500 meters the path branches to the right and leads through the Rofenkar and the Sonnberg trail to the Breslauer Hut (walking time approx. 4.5 - 5 hours).
Those who want can continue further on the Seufert trail to the Vernagt Hut (walking time approx. 2.5 hours).
Now follows the highlight of the route, the beautiful crossing over the Mittlere Guslarspitze (3126m) to the Hochjoch Hospiz (walking time approx. 3.5 hours). The path is relatively new and pleasant to hike. Alternatively, you can also choose the normal high-altitude path to Hochjoch (walking time approx. 2 hours).
From Hochjoch Hospiz it's only a short way to the Schöne Aussicht Shelter / South Tyrol (walking time approx. 2.5 hours). Here hungry hikers can enjoy first-class South Tyrolean cuisine and knödel tastings or relax with a sauna visit. After an overnight stay in very new beds, a warm shower and a wonderful evening menu, as well as a generous breakfast at 3000 meters altitude, you can hike relaxed down the hut path to Kurzras (walking time approx. 2 hours). From here you can take the bus directly to Merano.
For all those who still have time and leisure: on the orthographically right valley side you can also reach Juval Castle or Naturns in the Vinschgau. More alpine is the path over the Taschljoch through the Schlandraun Valley to Schlanders in the Vinschgau. From there you can comfortably take the train to Merano.
