4th stage of the Crossing of the Vosges Massif, a route certified Leading Quality Trails - Best of Europe. From the village of Lichtenberg to La Petite-Pierre, classified as a "World Biosphere Reserve" by UNESCO, the path passes by the "Rocher de l'Ochsenstall" which can be translated as "the oxen stable".
Indeed, thanks to its cavities, the place served as a stop and shelter for cowherds when they took their cattle to pasture. Once arrived at La Petite-Pierre, it is possible to visit the castle enclosure, modernized by Vauban in 1684.

Take the time to walk around the old town of La Petite-Pierre and admire the viewpoint of Vauban’s fortifications.
