The Alpine Pass Route leads from Chur through several Swiss cantons and over some passes to St. Gingolph on Lake Geneva.
From the capital of the canton of Graubünden – Chur – it goes from high point to high point all the way to Lake Geneva. The most beautiful crossings of the Bündner and Valais Alps are traversed on this long-distance hike. Over the Greina you first reach Ticino and then continue over the Piora and the Nufenen Pass into Valais. Along the way, hikers enjoy the nature of the high mountains, the view of the Valais four-thousanders, and historic places. The famous Great St. Bernard and the Dents du Midi lie along the long path. "Pass hiking" is regarded here as a discipline in its own right. It is not about climbing as many summits as possible. Hikers discover a new world with every pass crossing, leave another one behind, and are driven by curiosity.
