The Alpine panorama route runs from east to west across Switzerland from Lake Constance to Lake Geneva.
On the Alpine panorama route, as the name suggests, you enjoy magnificent views of Alpine peaks, the Swiss Plateau, and the Jura. From Lake Constance, it initially goes through the Appenzell region and over the Einsiedeln high valley into central Switzerland. It continues through the Emmental, the Schwarzenburg and Gruyère regions up to the shores of Lake Geneva. From there, you walk about 90 km from Vevey (Corseaux) to Geneva. The first part of the route is characterized by the traditional cultural landscapes of the pre-Alps: alpine meadows, cows, milk and cheese dishes at mountain inns. The scattered settlements of the pre-Alps, which date back to the Alemannic settlements in the Middle Ages, are also part of the cultural landscape of the pre-Alps. Only at Lake Geneva does the wine culture become dominant, and wherever you look, you see vineyards and stroll through the vineyards.
