From the barren high alpine mountain world around the Kaunergrat hut, we descend over green meadows and forests into the Pitztal. An incredible glacier panorama awaits us at the Braunschweiger hut. And everywhere there are incredible views – if the weather cooperates at least halfway.

    Author’s recommendation

At the Gletscherstübele you can have your backpack transported by the material lift to the Braunschweiger hut (4 €).

    Roadbook

This varied stage begins at the Kaunergrat hut. The picturesque morning mood partially compensates for the fact that we cannot take the actual route.

Because in wet or bad weather, you should not take the Cottbusser Höhenweg to the Riffelsee hut.

We descend directly into the Pitztal, follow it to Mittelberg, and then climb from there over the Gletscherstübele to the Braunschweiger hut. Incredible glacier views await us here.
