    Safety information

    We recommend wearing a helmet.

Wherever possible, inform a person who is not participating in the tour about which route you are taking and when you expect to arrive at the destination. These may be people at your home, or on longer tours the staff of the accommodation or the restaurant you leave from and/or want to reach.

    Tips and suggestions

The Schleifenroute, with over 330 daily stages and over 450 POIs, is the largest non-profit project for more awareness of breast cancer and prostate cancer in Germany and Switzerland.

Become part of this cross-border movement. The Schleifenroute consists of route recommendations for cyclists, hikers, riders and paddlers, and more are added. It’s about being physically active and at the same time raising more awareness for the diseases breast cancer and prostate cancer.

So join in – whether as cyclist or hiker, rider or paddler, it doesn’t matter! Just enter your kilometers traveled on our website: https://www.schleifenroute.de/kilometer-spenden

Be active! Incorporate as much movement as possible into your everyday life and exercise regularly. We are happy if you use our route suggestions for this. Motivate your family, friends or colleagues and at the same time do something good for your own health.

    Operating our planning tool:

Via "Start Schleifenroute" you get to the start page of our planning tool. Via "Our routes at a glance" you get a map with all our prepared stages for selection – you can also display everything as a list. Via "Route planning" you can also use our planning tool for individual plans, create, save, download and print your own routes. Accommodation tips are found at the individual stages or via the "Accommodations" button.

The "H" in the title of our stages means outward route and the "R" accordingly return route. This makes it possible to ride several stages consecutively in one direction and especially to get the correct elevation data. Not all routes have a return route. This is often the case with paddling tours and of course with circular routes.

    Note:

Our cycling stages are designed so that the destination is always also the starting point of the next stage (usually a station – so you can always get back by public transport). If you ride several stages in a row or plan a longer route over several days, you don’t have to follow each day’s stage to the end point (station), but can stay on the way before entering the respective city or town center. The following stage will then continue accordingly, without detour through the city/town. So load all planned stages onto your navigation device immediately or print them out accordingly.

The riding and paddling tours each start at suitable places, so here individual arrival, mostly also because of the necessary equipment, is done by private car.

Information about our work can be found at:

    www.blueribbon-deutschland.de

    www.pinkribbon-deutschland.de

We wish you lots of joy on the Schleifenroute! And please give us information if you discover something on the stage that we should definitely publish. For example, a changed route or another exciting POI. We are constantly on the road but will not be able to directly pick up all changes or improvements.

    Roadbook

The stage includes larger sections on paths, trails and/or gravel roads (paths 18.1 km, trails 2.2 km, asphalt 10.5 km, road 6.0 km and gravel 25.6 km). Touring bikes as well as touring-capable e-bikes can easily ride the route. Road cyclists should briefly check the route before transferring it to a mobile navigation device and reroute the marked, unpaved paths according to their own needs on these sections.

Note: Our stages are designed so that the destination is always also the starting point of the next stage. If you ride several stages consecutively or plan a longer route over several days, you do not have to follow each daily stage to the daily destination (usually a train station), but can stay on the way before entering the respective city or town center. The following stage then continues exactly from there, without detour through the town/city. So load all planned stages onto your navigation device immediately or print them out accordingly.

Note Trails: These sections are often only up to one meter wide and unpaved. It may be necessary to push the bike if it is not a mountain bike or in cities if the trail forms a connecting section. We recommend considering whether bypassing on the road is an alternative. However, since trails often lead to scenic wonderful areas and great places in towns, we have included these in our planning, which is basically based on long-distance cycle routes. The trails on this section are mostly easy to ride.

    Public transport

We recommend arrival and departure by public transport. Available are train, possibly long-distance bus and regional bus.

Timetable information: www.fahrplanauskunft.de – the web portal of Deutsche Bahn offers first orientation for travel bookings. We always recommend also checking regional providers.

Individual travel planning is possible at: (all public transport considered) persoenlicherfahrplan.bahn.de/bin/pf/query-p2w.exe/dn

    Directions

The station is signposted in the city. Address: Bahnhofstraße 43, 67346 Speyer.

There are paid parking spaces at the station. Additionally, free parking spaces are available in the nearby and wider vicinity. More info at: http://www.speyer.de/sv_speyer/de/Standort/Verkehr/Parken%20in%20Speyer/

    Equipment

The route runs on public cycle paths. Along the way, there are many opportunities to stop or buy provisions. A minimum first aid kit (for people and bike) should be carried. Extensive additional equipment for tours where one does not expect to meet anyone for several hours is considered not necessary.
