Oder-Neisse Cycle Route (D-Route 12)
The Oder-Neisse Cycle Route or D-Route 12 runs along the German-Polish border from Zittau to the Baltic Sea.
Always following the German-Polish border, on D-Route 12 you follow the rivers Neisse and Oder to the island of Usedom in the Baltic Sea. In Zittau you are close to the tri-border area with the Czech Republic, and if you want, you can start your route already in Nová Ves at the Neisse source. Along the way, you pass remarkable places like Görlitz, the easternmost city of Germany, and Bad Muskau, known through Prince Pückler, Frankfurt an der Oder, and Ueckermünde on the Baltic Sea. The scenery impresses with the Jizera Mountains, Lusatia, and the Ueckermünder Heide. It’s worth planning more time and lingering here and there.
