The Francigena Cycle Path is a cycling route in the Susa Valley, connecting the municipalities of Caselette and San Giorio. It can be used all year round and the entire route is flat, with only some gentle and easy ups and downs. It is suitable for all types of bikes and is ideal for families and less experienced riders.
The surface alternates between asphalt and dirt; mainly the cycle path follows a protected route, with some stretches along secondary roads with low traffic density crossing the municipalities of Chiusa San Michele and Vaie.
The presence of railway stations in the various municipalities crossed makes the route adaptable to individual needs and well suited for bike-train intermodality.
Thanks to the Via Francigena For All project, the section between Villar Focchiardo and Avigliana is accessible and usable also by people with disabilities thanks to the presence of rest areas and multisensory panels.
