Chiese Valley Cycle Path

It starts from the shores of Lake Idro at Baitoni, at the border with the province of Brescia, and goes up mainly following the course of the Chiese river, reaching Cologna, a hamlet of Pieve di Bono. About 2 km from the start of the route, a side branch on the path connects Lake Idro with the town of Storo following the course of the Palvico river. Another cycle path connects Bondo to Lardaro, passing by the small but picturesque Lake Roncone. This is the land of the seven Parishes, and therefore of the seven main churches. Along the route, there are many places of artistic interest, from the parish church of Santa Maria in Condino—where you can stop at the “Bicigrill”—to the church of Santa Giustina in Pieve di Bono. The cycle-hiking path is a great starting point to discover the signs left on the territory by the Great War, such as trenches, dugouts, and positions.
