The Outdoor Fitness Trails in the Heidiland holiday region include over 30 uniformly signposted running routes from a total of 10 stations and thus form one of the largest outdoor fitness parks in the Alpine region. The Weesen-Trail is one of three running routes around the Weesen station.
The starting point for this 4.5 km trail is the Infopoint of the Weesen station at the Schifflände (423 m above sea level). From here, it goes up to the cantonal road, past Hotel Schwert, and right through the picturesque old town. Partially through residential and industrial areas, the trail continues to the soccer and tennis courts. On a wide promenade, the Weesen-Trail now continues along the edge of the forest and past lush meadows to the 300 m shooting range near Rüti (428). Along the entire section, there is a magnificent view of the Glarus mountains and the Linth valley. To access the Linth canal, you have to cross the side road connecting Weesen and Ziegelbrücke. Along the idyllic promenade along the Linth, it then goes back to the Infopoint at the Schifflände Weesen.
