This route leads into the shady Stadtwald and further to Gut Lichtenau; the running route returns via Schweinthal to the starting point.
The moderately difficult Stadtwald route first runs along the Schlierach and through Miesbach. Soon it leads over hiking trails through the Stadtwald and continuously gently ascending through the Schopfgraben, past the Märchenweiher up to Gut Lichtenau. This is the highest point, and on a lightly trafficked road we run back to Schweinthal and soon through Miesbach back to Warmbad.
This route is not particularly long at 6 km and with 90 meters of elevation gain is easy to moderate. It mostly runs on paved paths or simple hiking and forest trails and is thus also suitable for beginners.

Roadbook
After starting at the Warmbad, we follow Badstraße towards the city until the left turn at Lindenplatz just before crossing the Schlierach. We follow the signs along the Schlierachweg, soon cross Tölzer Straße, and turn left onto a footpath that leads us north between the Schlierach and the railway line. At the junction with Schützenstraße, we continue left until a fork in the path - here we keep left and follow the 'Schopfgraben'. We continue always keeping left along the Schlierach until the end of the street, then continue on hiking trails into the Stadtwald. The hiking trail ascends gently through the forest, always along the Schopfgraben. We follow the signs over a small street and once around the Märchenweiher until it goes left towards Gut Lichtenau. Soon the forest is left behind, and along an alley past a wayside cross we continue on to Gut Lichtenau. Here the hiking trail merges onto a road, which we follow left to Schweinthal. Once there, we keep left, follow Schweinthaler Straße, soon cross Tölzer Straße, and follow a footpath down to Anger and then soon left through Badstraße back to the start at Warmbad.
