I put together this round as preparation for the Swabian Alb Marathon (50km). As mentioned at the beginning, this round can also be ridden by bike. However, you should then ride through Neuenbürg to get to the castle - !! Attention short steep ascent !!
I started at the hiking car park Sonnenberg. A beautiful stretch along the Westweg by the Enz river, which takes us to Neuenbürg. Short steep (with steps) ascent to Neuenbürg Castle. Cyclists ride around it to reach the castle. Then continue on a well-gravelled path into Grösseltal, further uphill to Langenbrand, the highest point. Then it first goes downhill for several kilometers to the Kapfenhardter mills. From there gently steadily ascending to Grunbach. Through Grunbach, we reach a small idyllic pond. Afterwards, we have to cross the road to reach the Büchenbronner Höhe along a trail going uphill. Those who feel like it and still have energy can climb the observation tower there. Then, now always downhill, continue to Herrmannsee. Anyone who wants can stop for a refreshment there once again at the end.... Now it gently goes downhill, with a short crossing of the Pfatschbach shortly before the finish. Shortly after that, we reach our starting point again.
