Tips and suggestions
Here are some background information on the Friedenseiche near HombressenRoadbook
The start is at the Angerstadion in Hofgeismar. We run north past the tennis courts to Industriestraße, cross the street at the pedestrian traffic light, and then turn right toward the traffic light intersection/bridge. At the traffic light intersection, turn left over the bridge and follow Brunnenstraße. The path then gently goes downhill to the parking lot of the Protestant Hospital "Krähenberg" down in the hollow. Directly at the parking lot (about running kilometer 2), we carefully cross the heavily trafficked B83 to the right and turn into the "Wiesenweg," which takes us past the Papiermühle and Steinmühle to Carlsdorf.
In Carlsdorf, the path leads past the fire station (KM 4). We continue a short stretch straight ahead, then turn right over the Lempe bridge and after about 250 meters reach the intersection of L3229, which we cross, then turn left and continue toward Udenhausen. At kilometer 6 the road makes a right curve. Here we carefully cross the street and turn onto the bike and hiking trail that turns left. We follow the path which after about 500 meters (running kilometer 5.1) veers left toward the forest edge.
We follow the path into the village and turn left onto "Bruchweg." Bruchweg ends at about running kilometer 6.3 with a view of the church at a crossroad. We turn left here and run over the Lempe to the next intersection (KM 6.5). From here we follow hiking trail no. 2 for a bit, turn left toward Hofgeismar, but after about 100 meters immediately turn right into Talstraße, which goes uphill. After 200 meters hiking trail 2 turns off and we follow it uphill.
At running kilometer 7.8 we reach the highest point of today’s run and turn left onto the path that leads us to the Friedenseiche. Here you have a magnificent panoramic view that should be briefly enjoyed.
We follow the path toward Hofgeismar and at running kilometer 9.3 reach the Röddenhof farmsteads, but leave them to the right and follow the path down into the Lempe valley. Along many fruit trees and past the water tower, you can once again let your gaze wander into the valley.
At running kilometer 10.3 we reach the Wiesenweg again, which we previously followed toward Carlsdorf. We now run right and then return along the same path we ran from the stadium. After just under 13 kilometers and around 180 meters of elevation gain, we are back at the Angerstadion.
