Eigis-Trail 471

The starting point for this 4 km long trail is the info point of the Unterterzen station on the lake side at Unterterzen station (425 m above sea level). From there, the paved lakeside path leads along the lake towards Murg – with the turquoise-blue Walensee and the impressive Churfirsten always on the right. Midway between Unterterzen and Murg, the Eigis-Trail branches off to the right, passing under the railway and road underpass. For a few meters, the trail then follows the main road before shortly thereafter entering a well-developed and wide hiking path. Now it goes through partly steep deciduous forest and a natural staircase up to Eigis (496), from where you enjoy a magnificent panorama! The trail continues almost flat over meadows and fields to below Quarten. Below the church, the trail turns left onto the hiking path for the descent to Unterterzen. The last few meters to the starting point lead through the underpass at the town hall in Unterterzen.
