Churfranken Run - Stage 1

The start of the Churfranken Run is on the forecourt of the Raiffeisen and Volksbank Miltenberg (Berliner Platz 1). From there, you run along the "Brückenstraße" over the Main bridge. At the traffic light, cross the "Mainstraße" and proceed into "Trankgasse." From there, turn left onto "Hauptstraße." From the Hauptstraße, we then turn right before the town hall into "Untere Walldürner Straße," which after the church is right out over the "Burgweg." At the end of the Burgweg, you then go over the "Conradyweg" into the forest. However, the route in the forest is not only on flat paths; right at the beginning, there is a first steep climb. An interesting path with moss-covered stones and rocks leads after about 80 m elevation gain to a wide forest path. On paved forest paths, the route then proceeds leisurely to the Monbrunner Höhe. This is also where the highest point of the route is reached. From there, it is briefly downhill on narrow paths for about 1 km before you reach paved hiking trails again towards the Miltenberg / Kleinheubach municipal boundary. From this path, there is a very nice view of Engelberg Monastery. At Km 9, the first houses on Monbrunnerstr. are reached again. The path now leads across the road to Breitendiel into an industrial area. At the end of the industrial area, you run under Kleinheubacher Str. and cross the railway line. The last nearly 1.3 km run parallel to the railway on a service road to the finish at Erbacher, Im Steinert 2-4 in Kleinheubach.
