The Rhein Skate always runs along the Rhine and Lake Constance. Thanks to simple topography and consistent separation from motorized traffic, the route is suitable for families.
From St. Margrethen, this stage follows the Old Rhine. Via Rheineck and Altenrhein, it goes to the shore of Lake Constance and onwards to Rorschach. On the way, beach baths and lake restaurants follow in short intervals. In Arbon, a visit to the charming old town is worthwhile. Always following the lakeside path and extensive reed belts, you roll to Romanshorn.
From Romanshorn, it goes on well-developed trails through the lake villages Uttwil, Kesswil, Güttingen, and Altnau. There are lakeside baths or piers everywhere that facilitate entry into the cool water but also invite you to linger. By the way, the longest pier at Lake Constance, measuring 270 meters, is in Altnau. With ever again fantastic views of the lake, you finally reach the end of the route in Kreuzlingen via Münsterlingen and Bottighofen.
