Mittelland Skate
The Mittelland skating route connects Lake Constance and the Three Lakes region. The route is challenging, but with clever staging also manageable for less experienced skaters.
Near the lakes, the route first leads through typical apple landscapes, then reaches Hagenwil Castle in slightly hilly terrain. This section is somewhat demanding; less experienced skaters switch to sneakers. It then continues past the Hudelmoos nature reserve and Bischofszell. Finally, the route follows the course of the Thur and reaches Weinfelden. From Weinfelden, the route follows the foot of the Ottenberg with its lush vineyards and then goes right through the Thur plain to Frauenfeld. The path finally continues through arable land to Winterthur.
Author’s recommendation
In Bischofszell, a detour to the picturesque old town or the medieval Thur bridge is particularly worthwhile.
Derived from the technical difficulty and the stamina requirements.
