Heidiland Skate No. 53

From Landquart, the trail first leads to Malans. On old farming paths, surrounded by typical stonework, the route leads through the vineyards of the Bündner Herrschaft. After a short detour to the Rhine dam near Maienfeld, you finally reach the spa town of Bad Ragaz and continue on to Sargans.
There is an ideal infrastructure for skating as far as Sargans. From Sargans to Walenstadt, the Seeztal valley is crossed on long, clear straights. The path close to the river is mostly separated from the roads.
From Walenstadt onwards, the lake and railroad line remain constant companions, with beach resorts in some places directly along the way. The Heidiland Skate passes railroad stations in all villages, with the option of covering individual sections by public transport. Very good infrastructure is available in the well-known tourist resorts.

Caution: Agricultural traffic is possible in the vineyards between Landquart and Sargans. In Sargans, truck traffic is possible for about one kilometer before the train station.
