Percorso lungo in ambiente montano che attraversa boschi di faggi stupendi ed alpeggi in quota. Si sale costantemente fino a raggiungere il monte Armetta (1739 m). Da qui con una lunga discesa si arriva ad incontrare il sentiero dell'alta via dei monti Liguri, sempre a cavallo del confine tra piemonte e liguria. Ancora in discesa si arriva nelle vicinanze del Passo di Prale e poi, via via fino ad arrivare a Cantarana dove si prende la ciclabile per ritornare ad Ormea.
