From the hamlet of Biei, the trail first follows a forest road (Trail No. 6) to the small biotope at Ritjoch and then continues along the mountain ridge. Once you reach the Ritwiesen (trail junction), a short detour to the Ritkreuz is well worth it. Back at the trail junction, continue on Trail No. 13 along the flat path; the trail then leads down to the head of the Wengen valley. Take Trail No. 15B uphill again to the small pilgrimage church of Heiligkreuz and its associated hospice. The return route follows Trail No. 15, first to the Armentara meadows, then along a forest road through picturesque woods back to the starting point.
