The premium walking route leads directly into the wooded slope of the Glan valley. The natural setting of the historic old town is unique. Narrow forest paths and steps lead to the legendary viewing platform "Juche" and to the romantic rest areas "Schwanenhaus" and "Gustav Merck Platz".
The starting point of the premium walking route is at the Untertor in the town of Meisenheim. We walk the circular route clockwise from the Untertor over the bridge to the eastern Glan bank. Through the wooded slope, we reach the Juche viewpoint via steps. From here, we enjoy the view of the historic old town. It continues along the forest slope, past impressive rock formations to the legendary "Schwanenhaus," a rest hut built in the last century, and to the "Gustav Merck Platz." Here we meet the circular hiking trail "Magische Heimbach." We continue along the wooded slope and leave the forest at the "Iron Footbridge." The path leads over the Glan bridge, past the Yellow House, through Untergasse back to the starting point.
